Hack4Motion 2026 Guidelines
The Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering faculties at the Technion, together with T-hub and the Israeli Olympic and Paralympic Committees, are offering Hack4Motion 2026. The event focuses on sports, assistive technologies, prosthetics, bionics, and rehabilitation.
Basic Guidelines
Registration and Teams
- Registration is open to Technion students, Technion alumni, and external participants.
- An online registration process will be available for all candidates. Registration will close on October 31, 2026.
- The Hackathon Management will assign participants to teams. An effort will be made to create multidisciplinary teams.
- Participants commit to attending all hackathon events. In case of a specific issue, prior approval for absence must be obtained from the hackathon management. Unapproved absences may result in cancellation of participation in the hackathon.
The Challenges
The hackathon will feature 3 core challenge tracks:
- Physiological Monitoring and Performance Enhancement: Prevent sports injuries and improve athletic achievements.
- Bionics and Prosthetics: Develop artificial organs, assistive technologies, and rehabilitation solutions.
- Rehabilitation Engineering and Adapted Equipment: Design adapted equipment for movement limitations, human-machine interfaces, and smart control.
Teams will receive a list of challenges relevant to their assigned track and will select one challenge to solve.
The suggested solution cannot be based on work currently developed by team members in other formal academic or industrial frameworks (such as a thesis, existing project, or company work).

- Preliminary Event 2 (Mehudar Center, Technion) Sunday, November 22, 2026, 16:00 to 19:00
- Main Event HACK 4 MOTION 2026 (ME Faculty, Technion) Thursday, November 26, 2026, 12:00 to 22:00
Competition and Judgment
- Teams will present their solutions in a final public event to a panel of judges.
- Judges will be leading professionals from relevant fields (biomedical industry, mechanical engineering, sports, and academia).
- Selection criteria include clear need, quality of the technological solution, commercial or social value, and project presentation. Different or additional criteria may apply.
Intellectual Property
HACK 4 MOTION is a learning event; therefore, all intellectual property rights arising from the implementation of ideas generated to address a specific challenge and produced by participants belong to the participants who produced them.
To enable future development of the solutions, each participant may individually further develop any solution proposed in the framework of the Hackathon and presented in the competition without any obligations to his/her team members.
The participants will not have any claim on the Technion or the HACK 4 MOTION organizers regarding responsibility or connected to the intellectual property which was developed in the framework of or following HACK 4 MOTION.
Safety, Conduct, and Media
- Safety and Liability: Participation may involve working with lab equipment, mechanical components, and physical activities. Participants are responsible for their own safety and must follow all Technion safety regulations. The organizers, the faculties, and the Technion are not liable for any personal injury or property damage incurred during the event. Participants also commit to maintaining and protecting all Technion equipment used.
- Media Consent: By participating, individuals agree that the organizers may photograph and record video during the event. These materials may be used for marketing, social media, and future public relations purposes.
- Code of Conduct: We require a respectful, safe, and professional work environment. Any violation of these standards will lead to immediate disqualification from the event.
Disagreement
In any disagreement, the head of the organizing committee is exclusively given the final ruling. This ruling is not open to appeal.

הפקולטות להנדסה ביו רפואית והנדסת מכונות בטכניון, יחד עם T-hub,הוועד האולימפי והוועד הפראלימפי, מציעות את האקתון Hack4Motion 2026 - האירוע מתמקד בספורט, טכנולוגיות מסייעות, פרוטזות, ביוניקה ושיקום.

הרשמה וצוותים
- ההרשמה פתוחה לסטודנטים בטכניון, בוגרי הטכניון ומשתתפים חיצוניים.
- תהליך הרשמה מקוון יהיה זמין לכל המועמדים. ההרשמה תיסגר ב 31 באוקטובר 2026.
- הנהלת ההאקתון תשבץ את המשתתפים לצוותים. ייעשה מאמץ ליצור צוותים רב תחומיים.
- המשתתפים מתחייבים להשתתף בכל אירועי ההאקתון. במקרה של בעיה ספציפית, יש לקבל אישור מראש מהנהלת ההאקתון להיעדרות. היעדרות ללא אישור עלולה להוביל לביטול ההשתתפות בהאקתון.
האתגרים
ההאקתון יכלול 3 מסלולי אתגר מרכזיים:
- ניטור פיזיולוגי ושיפור ביצועים: מניעת פציעות ספורט ושיפור הישגים ספורטיביים.
- ביוניקה ופרוטזות: פיתוח איברים מלאכותיים, טכנולוגיות מסייעות ופתרונות שיקום.
- הנדסת שיקום וציוד מותאם: תכנון ציוד מותאם למגבלות תנועה, ממשקי אדם מכונה ובקרה חכמה.
הצוותים יקבלו רשימה של אתגרים רלוונטיים למסלול שאליו שובצו ויבחרו אתגר אחד לפתור.
הפתרון המוצע לא יכול להיות מבוסס על עבודה שמפותחת כיום על ידי חברי הצוות במסגרות אקדמיות או תעשייתיות רשמיות אחרות (כמו תזה, פרויקט קיים או עבודה בחברה).

תחרות ושיפוט
- הצוותים יציגו את הפתרונות שלהם באירוע פומבי סופי בפני פאנל שופטים.
- השופטים יהיו אנשי מקצוע מובילים מהתחומים הרלוונטיים (התעשייה הביו רפואית, הנדסת מכונות, ספורט ואקדמיה).
- הקריטריונים לבחירת הזוכים: צורך ברור, איכות הפתרון הטכנולוגי, ערך מסחרי או חברתי, והצגת הפרויקט. ייתכן שיופעלו קריטריונים שונים או נוספים.
קניין רוחני
HACK 4 MOTION הוא אירוע לימודי ולכן כל זכויות הקניין הרוחני מיישום הרעיונות שנוצרו לטיפול באתגר ספציפי והופקו על ידי המשתתפים שייכות למשתתפים שהפיקו אותם.
כדי לאפשר פיתוח עתידי של הפתרונות, כל משתתף רשאי להמשיך לפתח באופן אישי כל פתרון שהוצע במסגרת ההאקתון והוצג בתחרות ללא כל מחויבות לחברי הצוות שלו.
למשתתפים לא תהיה כל טענה כלפי הטכניון או מארגני HACK 4 MOTION בנוגע לאחריות או בקשר לקניין הרוחני שפותח במסגרת או בעקבות HACK 4 MOTION .
בטיחות, התנהגות ומדיה
- בטיחות ואחריות: ההשתתפות עשויה להיות כרוכה בעבודה עם ציוד מעבדה, רכיבים מכניים ופעילות פיזית. המשתתפים אחראים לבטיחותם האישית וחייבים לפעול לפי כל תקנות הבטיחות של הטכניון. המארגנים, הפקולטות והטכניון אינם אחראים לכל פציעה אישית או נזק לרכוש שייגרמו במהלך האירוע. המשתתפים מתחייבים גם לשמור ולהגן על כל ציוד הטכניון שבו ייעשה שימוש.
- אישור מדיה: בעצם ההשתתפות, המשתתפים מסכימים שהמארגנים יצלמו ויקליטו וידאו במהלך האירוע. חומרים אלו עשויים לשמש למטרות שיווק, רשתות חברתיות ויחסי ציבור עתידיים.
- קוד התנהגות: אנו דורשים סביבת עבודה מכבדת, בטוחה ומקצועית. כל הפרה של סטנדרטים אלו תוביל לפסילה מיידית מהאירוע.
מחלוקת
בכל מחלוקת, ראש הוועדה המארגנת מקבל באופן בלעדי את ההחלטה הסופית. החלטה זו אינה ניתנת לערעור.
